Mary Anne Butler (Mab) got her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine as a teenager. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (News Editor), Nerdbot (as Editor-In-Chief), and now [Bad]Influencers, where she is Editor-in-Chief. Over the past 15 years, she’s built a well-known reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band. She also produces award-winning immersive events, including Wasteland Weekend and Neotropolis.

The nominations for the 77th annual Emmys were read this morning by Harvey Guillen, Brenda Song, and Television Academy Chairman Cris Abrego. Voting will run August 18th-27th. There will be two nights of Creative Arts Emmys on September 6th and 7th. The Primetime Emmys take place September 14th, airing live on CBS and Paramount+. It’s a beautiful day on Arrakis, fellow “Dune” fans! Warner Bros. Pictures has confirmed the start of production on Denis Villeneuve’s third film in the franchise. Taking it’s cues from Frank Herbert’s second novel in the saga, “Dune: Messiah,” the film will reportedly be called “Dune Part Three.”Following the completion of this film, Villeneuve will shift his attention to the next project on his docket, directing Amazon MGM’s next James Bond movie. This just in-we have some additional casting news (and possible story news!) about Chad Stahelski’s upcoming “Highlander” take. We already know Henry Cavill will lead the flick, along with his one-time film dad Russell Crowe. Today, Amazon MGM Studios officially announced that BAFTA TV award winner Marisa Abela (“Industry,” “Black Bag”) has joined the cast. In a graphic posted to the company’s Instagram account, Naughty Dog Studios head Neil Druckmann revealed he is stepping away from HBO’s live-action “The Last of Us” series.
