    Can you hear the eyerolling?

Zack Snyder, Mr. every movie I make will be a music video, is eyeing a reboot of epic proportions. Its a project we’ve heard a lot of chatter about over the years, a remake / reboot of John Carpenter‘s CLASSIC “Escape from New York.”

If you’ll recall, the 1981 film was co-written by the Master of Horror John Carpenter and Nick Castle. It starred Kurt Russell as iconic sarcastic action character Snake Plissken. The eyepatch that launched a thousand quotes, really.

Snyder will write and direct the “reimagining.”

Andrew Rona and Alex Heineman of The Picture Company will produce via their Studio Canal deal, along with Carpenter. Snyder will produce alongside Deborah Snyder and Wesley Coller for Stone Quarry. (Studio Canal is who currently holds the rights to the property.)

We’ll let you know what else we hear about this and other news.
