HBO has released the first image of new “Harry Potter” actor Dominic McLaughlin in full costume. This also confirms that cameras are indeed rolling on the series which aims to retell the story of the young wizard.

We know Oscar winner John Lithgow (“Conclave,” “The Crown”) will play Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer (“The White Queen”) will play Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu (“I May Destroy You”) is Severus Snape, and Nick Frost (“How To Train Your Dragon“) is Rubeus Hagrid. Katherine Parkinson will play Molly Weasley, Lox Pratt is Draco Malfoy, Johnny Flynn as Lucius Malfoy, Leo Earley as Seamus Finnigan, Alessia Leoni as Parvati Patil, Sienna Moosah as Lavender Brown, Rory Wilmot as Neville Longbottom, Amos Kitson as Dudley Dursley, Louise Brealey as Madam Rolanda Hooch, Anton Lesser as Garrick Ollivander, and Bertie Carvel as Cornelius Fudge. Bel Powley and Daniel Rigby will play Petunia and Vernon Dursley, respectively.

No word on when we might see the series, but it’s probably a safe bet it won’t be until at least 2027.

We’ll let you know what else we hear about this and other news.
