If there is one thing we’ve come to expect from HBO’s wonderful world of Westeros, it’s the secrecy that surrounds everything Game of Thrones. Yes, this includes the upcoming prequel series, that may or may not be titled “The Long Night”.

During a stop by Variety‘s Sundance lounge, Naomi Watts carefully sidestepped any volunteering of information about the upcoming HBO series by playfully teasing just enough:

“”Do you really think I’m going to tell you that? Are you trying to catch me off guard?”

It’s a fantastic world, isn’t it? I think there’s so many brilliant elements to that series that make it very exciting, very appealing. I don’t want to dig myself into a big hole here. All I want to say is it’s very exciting…I’ll say that again and again and again — and nothing else.”

Well played Naomi Watts, well played.

She’ll be leading the cast for the series, which includes Naomi Ackie, Denise Gough, Jamie Campbell Bower, Sheila Atim, Ivanno Jeremiah, Georgie Henley, Alex Sharp, Toby Regbo,  and Josh Whitehouse. S.J. Clarkson will be directing the pilot.

We’ll let you know when HBO announces anything else about the Game of Thrones prequel series. The 8th and final season of GoT is set to air on April 14th 2019.
