We sure love our post apocalyptic genre projects around here. From “Mad Max” to “Fallout,” from “See” to “Defiance”- we’ve watched it and/or are excited to watch it. If there is one thing I’m personally thankful to Taylor Swift and Beyoncé for, it’s the long-forgotten art form of the concert film being celebrated again. All we really know thus far is David Koepp, who wrote both the original 1993 Steven Spielberg film and it’s 1997 sequel, is penning the script. At present, there is no director nor cast mentioned. We’re so torn on being happy about this news. Animated series “Star Wars: The Bad Batch” is returning for a third season. But- and it’s a Super Star Destroyer-sized but- it’ll be the final season. As announced this morning, season three will get a three-episode premiere on February 21st, only on Disney+. Watch the trailer for it now.

This just in-Sounds like “Tron: Ares” has just gained one of our absolute favorites- Gillian Anderson! According to reports, she has joined the third “Tron” film, alongside already confirmed stars Jared Leto, Cameron Monaghan, Greta Lee, Evan Peters, Sarah Desjardins, and Jodie Turner-Smith. There is VERY little known about the plot of the film, but, Disney has confirmed it will follow Leto as Ares, who comes to the real world from The Grid. Joachim Ronning (“Pirates of the Caribbean“) directs from a script by Jesse Wigutow and Jack Thorne.Cameras are rolling on “Tron: Ares” now.

Director Joachim Ronning (“Pirates of the Caribbean“) is helming “Tron: Ares,” which will star Jared Leto (who is also producing), Cameron Monaghan (“Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Survivor”), Evan Peters, Greta Lee (“Past Lives“), and Jodie Turner-Smith (“Queen and Slim”).At present, there is no likely release date, but we’ll let you know what we hear.

Netflix has been developing the series for some time, and it may be one of the most anticipated projects they’re releasing this year. According to sources, Sports Illustrated publisher The Arena Group missed a $2.8 million payment to Authentic, the license holder for the 70-year-plus company.
