Author: Mary Anne Butler

Mary Anne Butler (Mab) got her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine as a teenager. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (News Editor), Nerdbot (as Editor-In-Chief), and now [Bad]Influencers, where she is Editor-in-Chief. Over the past 15 years, she’s built a well-known reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band. She also produces award-winning immersive events, including Wasteland Weekend and Neotropolis.

One of the coolest things you can do if you’re a small child at Disneyland is attended the Star Wars Jedi Training Academy.  This twice daily event is held on a stage right outside Star Tours and the newly reopened Finding Nemo submarine ride.  It often goes off without a hitch, but this time was something […]

Run amok!  Fa awry!  My want won’t tolerate […]

One of my favorite scripted dramas of the last five years is the replacement for The West Wing sized hole from HBO, The Newsroom.  Many of the snappy, witty one liners and quick fire dialog of this award winning series also harken to Boston Legal, another one of those series known and loved for it’s writing. It is […]

If you’ve been following our reports, we’re actually REALLY LIKING Fox’s Gotham.  Shocker, right?  But we probably shouldn’t say that so loud, because we all know what happens when there is a good sci-fi/comic show on Fox…. Nicholas D’Agosto (Masters of Sex) has been cast as everyone’s pre-acid-in-the-face District Attorney, Harvey Dent.  Mr. Dent becomes villain Two-Face later […]
