    This just in-

it would appear Potsy Ponciroli (“Old Henry“) has been tapped by Warner Bros. Pictures to tackle a screenplay for the upcoming sequel to “The Goonies.”

News about a sequel came in January, when word of a “The Goonies” ‘treatment’ from the original film’s screenwriter Chris Columbus hit the trades. Steven Spielberg, Kristie Macosko Krieger, and Holly Bario will produce for Amblin Entertainment. Columbus and Lauren Shuler Donner (wife of the late directing great Richard Donner) will executive produce.

It is possible we’ll be seeing the return of Josh Brolin, Oscar winner Ke Huy Quan, Sean Austin, Corey Feldman, Jeff Cohen, Martha Plimpton, and Kerri Green.
