This has got to be the greatest news to happen in 2022! Ultimate rockumentary film “This is Spinal Tap” is getting an honest-to-goodness sequel. And before you ask, yes, the original stars and director are returning.
Michael McKean plays lead singer David St. Hubbins, Christopher Guest is lead guitarist Nigel Tufnel, and Harry Shearer is bassist Derek Smalls. Rob Reiner directed the original 1984 film, and played documentarian Marty DiGergi in the film.
Reports indicate the project will be shopped around at this year’s Cannes International Film Festival. And, it currently has a possible release date of March 19th, 2024.
