    Tom Hanks IS Mr. Rogers in “A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood” [Trailer]

    Tom Hanks portrays Mister Rogers in “A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood,” based on the true story of a real-life friendship between Fred Rogers and jaded journalist Tom Junod (played by Emmy winner Matthew Rhys). Assigned a profile of Fred Rogers, writer Junod manages to overcome his skepticism, learning about empathy, kindness, and decency from America’s most beloved neighbor.

    Marielle Heller directs from a script by Micah Fitzerman-Blue and Noah Harpster for SONY Pictures. Susan Kelechi Watson and Chris Copper also star.
