Paramount Pictures has announced yet another release date for their upcoming 3rd SpongeBob Squarepants feature film, The SpongeBob Movie: It’s a Wonderful Sponge.
Aside from the kind of awesome news that Hans Zimmer will be handling the score for the denizens of Bikini Bottom, there are reports we’ll be getting a SpongeBob treat during tomorrow’s Super Bowl LIII halftime show.
While rehearsals for the big show were going on the last two days in Atlanta, various sources were claiming to have seen “clips of SpongeBob” being shown on the jumbotrons and bits of song “Sweet Victory”, which would be a lovely tribute to Stephen Hillenburg, creator of SpongeBob, who passed away last year.

Originally, Its A Wonderful Sponge was going to be hitting theaters in July of 2020, the same weekend Godzilla: King of the Monsters was set to roar. Paramount has since shifted the feature two months earlier, to May 22nd 2020.
