The Rock Joins Batman V Superman?

While we’re still waiting for the official word from DC about this, Superhero Hype is reporting this story taken from an interview with Dwayne The Rock Johnson and FILM.

“I will say this. There’s a character out there that we’re going to announce very soon that I’m going to play, and I’ll just say this: This character has the power of Superman, (and he’s not Green Lantern, by the way) he can throw down. Just say the word. That’s all I’m going to say.”

So let the casting theories commence!  The main one we’re seeing is The Rock as Shazam, but with his “power of Superman” comment, I’m almost thinking we could see him as a Bizarro, Nuclear Man, or even Doomsday or Darkseid.

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige confirmed Friday that he the studio will not move the release date for comic book film “Captain America 3,” despite another superhero blockbuster being released on the same date.

Warner Bros. Entertainment announced in January 2014 that they were pushing the release date of “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice” from between July 17, 2015 to May 6, 2016. In April 2014, Marvel announced that “Captain America 3” would premiere on the same 2016 date.
