The highly anticipated Netflix series based on the classic video game series Castlevania is looking pretty good.
A teaser was just released today from the Netflix Latin America Twitter, along with text that translates to “There is always hope in darkness.”

Netflix announced the series earlier this year and said that it was due out sometime in 2017, but this trailer mentions a July 7th release date. That *could* be just for Latin American markets, but theoretically fan reactions to the teaser’s release should prompt a response and clarification from the North American offices of the streaming media giant.
UPDATE:
Right after we posted this, the official Netflix Facebook page released the trailer as well as confirmation that it will indeed arrive on July 7th.
Castlevania is produced by Adi Shakar and written by legendary comics writer Warren Ellis.
The official series description reads:
Inspired by the classic video game series, Castlevania is a dark medieval fantasy following the last surviving member of the disgraced Belmont clan, trying to save Eastern Europe from extinction at the hand of Vlad Dracula Tepes himself.
