This week seems to be the ‘casting announcement’ time, probably because the first of the really big mass media conventions (WonderCon, owned by Comic-Con International) is this coming Easter Weekend.

David Ayers’ Suicide Squad movie has just announced their casting choice for notable Batman villain Killer Croc.  The Wrap is reporting that Akinnuoye-Agbaje, most known as Mr. Eko on ABC’s LOST will be playing Croc in the upcoming film.

Killer Croc was created by Gerry Conway and Don Newton, and first appeared in 1983’s “Batman” #357. Killer Croc has appeared in multiple other-media adaptations of the Batman mythos, including “Batman: The Animated Series,” multiple animated features and video games, but this will be the character’s live-action debut.

Suicide Squad will be directed by David Ayer and star Will Smith as Deadshot, Jared Leto as The Joker, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, Viola Davis as Amanda Waller and Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flagg. It is scheduled for release on Aug. 5, 2016. Production is expected to start in April.
