The official cast has been announced for the upcoming film Suicide Squad.  Based on the long running DC Comics title, this film will center around the new 52 team featuring characters such as Deadshot, The Joker, and fan favorite Harley Quinn.  Variety confirmed just a few minutes ago that we now have our Joker.

Long rumored to be in the running for Marvel’s Doctor Strange, it looks like Oscar winner and 30 Seconds to Mars frontman Jared Leto will be donning the green hair of Batman’s greatest nemesis, The Joker.

Also named to the cast is Oscar winner Will Smith, playing Deadshot. Other official announcements are Tom Hardy as Rick Flagg, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Jai Courtney as Boomerang, and Cara Delevingne as Enchantress.

Suicide Squad will be directed by David Ayer and produced by Charles Roven and Richard Suckle.  It will begin shooting next April in Toronto.
