“Strange Magic”: Disney Movie ISN’T Frozen 2

It was widely believed that the sequel to Disney’s hit animated film Frozen was going to be the upcoming released title movie, Strange Magic.  There were no less than three website domains registered by the House of Mouse for Strange Magic, and at least now we know what that film will be.

Loosely inspired by William Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer’s Night Dream”, this new release from Lucasfilm is reportedly using popular songs from the last 60 years to tell a madcap fairy tale about goblins, elves, fairies and imps as the battle over a powerful potion.

The cast as we know it thus far will include Alan Cumming, Evan Rachel Wood, Kristin Chenoweth, Maya Rudolph and Sam Palladio. Gary Rydstrom will direct, and the story is supposedly by George Lucas.

Variety reports Strange Magic is due out in January 2015.
