After a mysterious tweet from questionable website hit earlier this evening, the mediaverse is scrambling to find any kind of sourceable proof this new Masters of The Universe film is happening.

By the power of Grayskull! Sony’s MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE stakes out December 18, 2019. He-Man!

    — Exorcist Relations Co. (@ERCboxoffice) April 27, 2017

It’s no secret the project had been in development for awhile, with Charlie’s Angels director McG (no really, that’s his name) mentioned as on board for the project.  The film had reportedly gone through multiple writers, back in 2015 the ‘most recent’ addition was Thor’s Christopher Yost.  Nothing else has been publicly confirmed about the film since then though.

Entertainment Weekly came forward right after other outlets ran the ‘release date’ story as a done deal, stating they had the inside line with a source “close to the production” confirming the date, and not mentioning the Exhibitor Relations tweet at all.

We’ll let you know as soon as Sony says anything concrete about this.
