It still seems strange that out of all the other Spider-Man characters Sony Pictures has access to, they’d pick Madame Web for a solo film. Especially considering she’d be the first female character to get the honor.

Announced earlier this year, Dakota Johnson will star as the iconic character in a film directed by S.J. Clarkson. This morning, reports indicate that “Euphoria” star Sydney Sweeney has joined the project.

No details on who Sweeney maybe playing yet. Hear us out- what about 4th Spider Woman Charlotte Witter?

We’ll let you know what we hear about this and other projects. Sony’s next Spider-Man adjacent film “Morbius” is due to hit theaters on April 1st, 2022. “Kraven the Hunter” is currently in production.
