We just wanted to take a second to draw your attention to Lindsay van Ekelenburg. She’s a fabulous artist, who has managed to once again create a beautiful tribute piece to a dearly departed hero.

As you know, we lost Betty White, the First Lady of Television, last year. Just weeks away from her 100th birthday, America’s sweetheart passed away on December 31st, 2021. An outpouring of love and warm memories followed, as well as a new art piece from Ekelenburg.

    May we present:

“Our Lady of Grateful Camaraderie, Betty White. Honouring our Lady of Grateful Camaraderie for her 100 birthday, this tribute painting of Betty White has been created to bring you warmth and joy in her memory.”

You can purchase prints and other items from Ekelenburg’s official store here. For the month of January, 10% of profits will be donated to Ladybird Animal Sanctuary in Hamilton, Ontario.

We highly suggest picking up her Carrie Fisher and Ruth Bader Ginsberg pieces as well.

Mary Anne Butler (Mab) got her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine as a teenager. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (News Editor), Nerdbot (as Editor-In-Chief), and now [Bad]Influencers, where she is Editor-in-Chief. Over the past 15 years, she’s built a well-known reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band. She also produces award-winning immersive events, including Wasteland Weekend and Neotropolis.
