Remember Satanic Panic “Mazes and Monsters” Starring Tom Hanks?

During today’s “Stranger Things” centric Netflix Geeked Week, David Harbour and Winona Ryder chatted with Felicia Day. Sure, they talked about the hit series and their characters- but it was a lot of nostalgia chatter. Harbour revealed he was an avid Word of Warcraft (and The Sims) player in 2005, and Rider came up with a pretty great pitch for Eleven loving Pee-Wee Herman in season 5.

But the panel ALSO talked about the Satanic Panic of the 80s, and Tipper Gore‘s personal crusade for censorship. “Did you ever see Tom Hanks’ first film?” Harbour asked. He was talking about “Mazes and Monsters,” which does indeed feature American treasure Hanks in his first starring role.

The made for tv movie was released in 1982, and follows a group of college students and their interest in a fictitious RPG of the same name. Things…don’t go well, and adventure ensues.

Turns out, you can find it on YouTube!
