Who remembers the 80s?  You do?  Ok, so you probably know who Rainbow Brite is.  In the latest installment of “WHY ARE YOU REBOOTING THAT?”, dear little sprite Rainbow is getting the revamp.

Emily Osment will voice Rainbow Brite, a young girl with magic powers who goes on a quest to save Rainbowland from dark forces.  Here is the official trailer:

Molly Ringwald will voice the show’s main antagonist, The Dark Princess.  Starlite and the Color Kids will also return for the limited series starting on Nov. 6.

“Being cast as the voice of Rainbow Brite for the relaunch of this iconic show is truly an honor. I look forward to connecting with the audience, old and new, and going on this exciting adventure together,” Osment said in a statement.

This announcement comes along with news that Netflix is doing a new cartoon for Care Bears, and a Teletubbies reboot as well.
