Paul Rudd Joins Jason Reitman’s “Ghostbusters” 2020!

From close-up magic master to the supernatural- it would appear that Ant-Man star Paul Rudd is joining Jason Reitman‘s “Ghostbusters” film for SONY.

According to Variety, Rudd will play “a teacher in a small town” in the upcoming film.

Jason is the son of original “Ghostbusters 1 & 2” director Ivan Reitman, and will be writing / directing this third installment in the main franchise.

Yes, third, because for all intent and purposes, SONY and co are dismissing the 2016 female-fronted reboot “Ghostbusters” film which was directed by Paul Feig and starred Melissa McCarthy, “Saturday Night Live” alum Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones. (I mean C’MON, they even had SNL stars like the original.)

Rudd will join “Stranger Things” star Finn Wolfhard, “Fargo”‘s Carrie Coon, “Captain Marvel’s” McKenna Grace as just some of the confirmed actors appearing in the film.

There is talk that Bill Murray will appear, and Dan Ackroyd recently commented on the project saying that Jason had “written a beautiful script.”

Ghostbusters 3 film is set to hit theaters on July 11th, 2020. We’ll let you know what else we hear about it.

For now, why not enjoy some of Secret of the Booze’s 21+ “Ghostbusters” inspired cocktails, like the ECTO-Cooler or the Stay Puft?
