It looks like there is FINALLY some movement from Legendary Pictures on the Kaiju/Jaeger front.  Long rumored, it would appear Pacific Rim 2 has a director attached, and is moving forward.

Deadline is reporting Steven S. DeKnight, who created  Spartacus for STARZ, will be jumping into the director’s chair.  Deknight has written, directed and produced on such television series as Joss Whedon’s Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Angel and Dollhouse, as well as Smallville.

We don’t know much about what this sequel will entail, but the current script was written by Jon Spaihts based on characters created by Beacham and del Toro. Thomas Tull, Jon Jashni, del Toro and Mary Parent are producing and Jillian Share will be executive producer.  We’ll let you know as this story develops and more information becomes available.
