The end of Droughtlander is in sight, Outlander fans! The third season premiere of the STARZ hit series is closer than we thought, and hopefully after San Diego Comic Con (SDCC) we’ll get the full length trailer.

STARZ announced today via this HEARTBREAKING Claire and Jamie poster that the official season 3 airdate will be September 10th, 2017:

*tries not to cry, cries a lot*

And then they released a new short clip of Claire:

Outlander fast became a tv favorite, the series being adapted by Ron Moore from the “Outlander” novels by Diana Gabaldon, garnering award nominations and wins across multiple academies.  The fanbase is passionate, spans the globe, and has been anxiously awaiting the next chapter of the saga to be brought to the STARZ network.

When we last saw Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie (Sam Heughan) 200 years separated them, and an additional 20 years had passed since they shared space together.  Jamie and Claire’s daughter Brianna (Sophie Skelton) had just found out the truth of her parentage, Claire’s first husband Frank (Tobias Menzies) had died, and Roger Wakefield (Richard Rankin) had made himself invaluable to the historical search for Jamie Fraser.

Without too many spoilers for those of you who haven’t read the books, the 3rd season will cover the 3rd book “Voyager”.  As the title will tell you, there are journeys involved this season; ships and time travel both.  We’ll visit Jamaica, we’ll meet new important characters, see previously introduced characters grow up and age 20 years, and the most anticipated scene, we’ll visit the print shop in Edinburgh owned and operated by one Mr. A. Malcolm, printer.

Fans can look forward to award winning series composer Bear McCreary being back to score season 3.  Costume designer Terry Dresbach will also be back, the anticipation of yet another show stopping ‘red dress’ moment for Claire hot on the minds of fans.

We’re expecting the full season 3 trailer to drop during the official Outlander panel at SDCC, we’ll have that as soon as it’s released.
