“Outlander”: First Look At Season 2

Spring of 2016 sure seems a long way away, especially when you’re waiting for the next season of one of your favorite shows.  This is how many of us suffering Droughtlander, the long span of time between the end of the first season of STARZ show Outlander, are feeling right now.

BUT, Entertainment Weekly felt the need to bless us mere Sassenachs with two images of our Claire and Jamie from the set.  If you haven’t read the book series, I will spoil just a bit for you in saying the second season will take place MOSTLY in France, specifically Paris, and that means fine FINE frocks.

Man, costume designer Terry Dresbach and team has outdone themselves with Claire’s dress.  It’s gorgeous!  Here is a bit from Terry’s website as to the process of the Saffron Dress:

We dyed a beautiful silk/wool blend this gorgeous saffron color, and the amazing Helen, our talented textile artist, hand painted the ivory silk. One of my favorites!

Jamie’s uncle/cousin (not sure how they’ll do the relation yet) owns a shipping company which deals primarily with import/export of fine wines and liquors which Jamie will become a major partner in.  He also befriends a certain soon-to-be Bonny Prince Charlie (Andrew Gower) at the court of King Louie. Claire struggles to find a place in the busy city, but eventually finds solace at the very busy Hospital St. Angeles, where she works under the careful eye of Mother Hildegarde (Frances de la Tour) and her fuzzy companion Bouton.  The Frasers also find themselves a young French street urchin, who becomes part of the family and adopts the name Fergus (Romann Berrux).  We ALSO have it on pretty good authority that Gaia Weiss (Vikings) is joining the cast as a yet unnamed role….but I’m pretty sure she’ll be Brianna, because, well, she’d be a pretty damn good choice.
