A new poster has arrived ahead of the upcoming adaptation of the long-running Stephen King saga, The Dark Tower. The poster shows frontiersman Roland Deschain (played by Idris Elba) and Jake Chambers (Tom Taylor) striding forward with the welcome and blessing found in the books – May your days be long upon the earth.

The storyline is reported to be a sort of sequel to the book series, but will also model the structure of the first book in the series, The Gunslinger. So it might be a good start to reread the series as a refresher, or for the first time – so you won’t have to be the one in your row at the theater asking what the heck is going on. It still remains to be seen how much of the stylized language and highly ritualized interactions are held over from the books, but the use of the quote on the poster would imply that it will be retained to a large extent.

Opening July 28th, 2017,  Dark Tower also stars Matthew McConaughey, Abbey Lee, Katheryn Winnick, Fran Kranz, Claudia Kim and Jackie Earle Haley.
