Okay, look- we know what you’re thinking. A “Dune” coloring book? How many variations of brown and sand can there possibly be to make this worth while? The answer is- we’re not sure, mostly because there’s no pages in the book available to look at yet.

We digress. A new officially licensed coloring book based on Frank Herbert‘s seminal work of science fiction, “Dune,” is available now. Well….for pre order. We can’t really comment on different it is from the 1984 coloring and activity books (which are the best!), but we’re excited.

The product description from publisher Penguin Random House:

The new Dune coloring book Amazon

Visit Arrakis in a whole new way as you color in your favorite characters and scenes from Frank Herbert’s enduring and beloved classic novel.

Dune tells the unforgettable story of the boy Paul Atreides, heir to a noble family tasked with ruling an inhospitable desert planet, and his journey to a mythic destiny that will bring to fruition humankind’s most ancient and unattainable dream.

This intricate, beautifully wrought coloring book will include forty-four original illustrations, featuring character studies, locations, and scenes inspired by Dune, the profound and triumphant novel adored by millions of readers around the world.SEE LESS

You can pre-order the coloring book on Amazon here. It’s expected to start shipping sometime in September. “Dune Part Two” is currently slated to hit theaters November 3rd, 2023. (But rumors are swirling it’ll be delayed.)
