Remember the report of Nathan Fillion playing Nova in James Gunn’s upcoming Guardians Of The Galaxy?  Well, chalk THAT barrel of monkeys rumor up to poorly timed lesser-known sites trying to get their hit count up, hell, we totally fell for it too, we’ll admit it.

But so many of the other sites retracted the idea that Nathan would be in the film at all, even though he said back in April that he was definitely in the end credits, and James Gunn responding on twitter that Fillion was definitely in a small cameo.  So, he’ll still be in the film, and now we have a PRETTY GOOD idea of what role he’ll be playing.

Over on Schmoesknow the theory of Nathan voicing Cosmo the psychic Russian cosmonaut dog that appeared in the GoTG comics is widely believed to be true.  Cosmo is a telepathic Russian dog in the Marvel Comics universe. The character was created by Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning, first appeared in Nova vol. 4 #7. Within the context of the stories, Cosmo is the security chief of the spacestation Knowhere and a member of the Guardians of the Galaxy.

So it’ll be interesting to see if this stays a rumor, gets debunked, or gets confirmed anytime soon.
