“Krypton”: TV Series In Development For SyFy

Remember that thing we told you guys about back in October that David S. Goyer was possibly thinking about working on a tv series about pre Man Of Steel Krypton?

It looks like we were correct about it, and that the series is currently starting development over at SyFy.  The confirmation of this comes from SyFy BLASTR personality (and all around cool guy) Aaron Sagers:

Here is the ‘official pitch’ for the series as posted on Entertainment Weekly (after we broke this story, I’d like to point out):

“Years before the Superman legend we know, the House of El was shamed and ostracized. This series follows The Man of Steel’s grandfather as he brings hope and equality to Krypton, turning a planet in disarray into one worthy of giving birth to the greatest Super Hero ever known.”

EW goes on to say Goyer and Ian Goldberg (Once Upon a Time) will executive produce the project, with Goldberg writing a pilot script based on a story by both men.

This news would ALSO lend itself to the possibility that even if NBC’s Constantine (also from Goyer) were to not be renewed, it would find a home on SyFy, who recently showed a mini marathon of the first few episodes during Thanksgiving.
