“Krypton” Lands Series Order At SyFy

Sometimes, it feels like there can never be too much of a good thing.  The current saturation of Superhero media though, I dunno if we as fans can weather the storm.

The news today is that David S. Goyer’s long rumored Man Of Steel prequel series Krypton has at long last gotten a series order from the folks at SyFy.

Krypton is set two generations before the destruction of the legendary Man of Steel’s home planet. It follows Superman’s grandfather, whose House of El was ostracized and shamed, as he fights to redeem his family’s honor and save his beloved world from chaos.  This actually excites me, as one of the few people who actually liked Man of Steel, and wanted to see more of the flora and fauna of the new look of the red sun planet.

Deadline reports that Damian Kindler (Sleepy Hollow) has come on board as executive producer/showrunner, while Peaky Blinders helmer Colm McCarthy has been set to direct the Goyer-written pilot.

Hopefully we’ll get some casting news soon.  Who would you like to see play Grandfather El?
