A new hybrid animated series from Mike Judge (“King of the Hill,” “Beavis and Butthead“), Zach Woods, and Brandon Gardner. Imagine “stop-motion puppets” working at a radio station, conducting interviews with people. That’s the premise of “In The Know,” with animation from ShadowMachine (Guillermo del Toro’s “Pinocchio“).
Along with the first trailer, we learned about guest stars we’ll be seeing in the series. People like Mike Tyson, Jonathan Van Ness, Kaia Gerber, Ken Burns, Finn Wolfhard, Tegan and Sara, Nicole Byer, Roxane Gay, Norah Jones, Jorge Masvidal, and Hugh Laurie.
“Lauren Caspian is NPR’s third most popular host. He’s a well-meaning, hypocritical nimrod, just like you and me. He’s also a stop motion puppet. Each episode follows the making of an episode of Lauren’s show In the Know, in which Lauren conducts in-depth interviews with real world human guests. Lauren collaborates with a diverse crew of NPR staff. They are also puppets and nimrods.“
