    Hugh Jackman’s Happy 20th Anniversary “X-Men” Message

Hard to believe it’s been 20 years since 20th Century Fox’s first “X-Men” film hit theaters. Directed by Bryan Singer and written by Tom DeSanto with singer, this summer film was for some fans an introduction, and for others a live-action adaptation they had been waiting for.

It was also, for some of us, a HUGE disappointment. Don’t get me wrong, several of the casting choices were spot on- like Sir Patrick Stewart as Professor X, Ian McKellen as Magneto, and eventually Kelsey Grammer as Beast as well as Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler- but the rest? Eeeeeeh.

This is not to harp on a less-than-stellar cast, though. This is to share Hugh Jackman‘s adorable video post to celebrate the anniversary.

So here’s the thing. When the studio called and asked if I could get in shape to play #Wolverine in 3 weeks. I might have over promised! But wouldn’t you have too? Happy 20th Anniversary X-Men Universe. #Xmen #20 pic.twitter.com/bwQJnmyZBI

    McKellen has also posted now.

So, maybe have your own Nerdbot Cinema tonight with “X-Men,” and take a look back at the superhero flick.

Over the past 15 years, she’s built a well-known reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always).
