Director Jake Kasdan (Freaks and Geeks, The New Girl) is taking audiences into the jungle in this reboot of the 90s film Jumanji.  Dwayne Johnson is on board to star in this game-bent film, and the first trailer for the movie was just released.

Ok, maybe reboot isn’t the right word because every time more information about the film gets released it seems further and further from a reboot/remake.  When the first image was released of the cast, the internet lit up with talk about Karen Gillan‘s less-than-her-male-costars-coverage.  BUT- early reports have sort of cleared that up, stating the main characters are actually the avatars of the video game “Jumanji” come to life, which also explains their names. Gillan plays Ruby Roundhouse, Johnson is Dr. Smolder Bravestone, Kevin Hart is  Moose Finbar, Jack Black is Professor Shelly Oberon, you get the idea.
