    Destination: HawaiiCon 2014

    HawaiiCon.  Hold on, lemme get this straight.  A convention, with guests, panels, dealer room etc, with sand sun and surf?  IN HAWAII?!?  If you think I’m kidding, I don’t blame you in the slightest, but it really is happening.

    The Big Island of Hawaii will play host to the first convention of it’s kind for the Kona Coast  September 12th-14th 2014.  HawaiiCon is offering all kinds of special deals on their tickets, with only a week to go they want to make sure you have a chance to get in on the awesome.

    StargateReunion

    The Con will host a special Stargate Atlantis 10 year anniversary event, FOUR gala dinners including Star Trek‘s Walter Koenig’s birthday dinner, and many other exciting events.

    Special adventures  will include things like Hula lessons with Babylon 5‘s Claudia Christian, deep sea fishing with Stargate Atlantis‘s Paul McGillion, a glass bottom boat ride over the beautiful Kohala coast reefs with (Teyla from Stargate Atlantis) Rachel Luttrell,  and night time star gazing with Battlestar Galactica‘s Michael Hogan.  There will even be cosplay workshops with Bellechere and Heroes of Cosplay/CrabCat Industries Holly Conrad!

    Mary Anne Butler (Mab) got her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine as a teenager. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (News Editor), Nerdbot (as Editor-In-Chief), and now [Bad]Influencers, where she is Editor-in-Chief. Over the past 15 years, she’s built a well-known reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band. She also produces award-winning immersive events, including Wasteland Weekend and Neotropolis.
