You KNOW one of our favorite bands just happens to be Depeche Mode, so imagine our utter delight in sharing this news with you! If you didn’t happen to catch 2017-2018’s Global Spirit tour to support their album of the same name, you’re in luck!

For ONE NIGHT only (November 21st 2019), long-time artistic collaborator Anton Corbijn‘s documentary about the tour, “Depeche Mode: SPIRITS in the Forest” will play in theaters! Thanks to Trafalgar Releasing, Sony Music Entertainment, BBH Entertainment, and of course DM for making this happen for fans!

“I’m exceptionally proud to share this film and the powerful story that it tells,” DM frontman Dave Gahan says about the doc. “It’s amazing to see the very real ways that music has impacted the lives of our fans.”

Martin Gore added, “In today’s world of turmoil and divisiveness, music really can be a force for good and can bring people together.”

    SPIRITS is described as:

Diving into the deeply emotional stories of six special Depeche Mode fans, the film weaves together exhilarating musical performances filmed at the final shows of the tour at Berlin’s famed Waldbühne (“Forest Stage”) with intimate documentary footage filmed in the fans’ hometowns across the globe. It shows not only how and why the band’s popularity and relevance has continued to grow over the course of their career, but provides a unique look into music’s incredible power to build communities, enable people to overcome adversity, and create/ connections across the boundaries of language, location, gender, age, and circumstance.

We got to see the tour twice in 2017, and it was just as incredible as we’d dreamed it would be. You can read about that experience here. And, it’s worth noting, DM actually topped Billboard’s Hottest Tours chart, bringing in $202 million over 15 months. Not bad for a band that’s never had a #1 hit, right?

Fans can sign up for updates on the official website here. Tickets are set to go on sale for the global one night only screening on September 26th 2019.
