Daisy Ridley Teases “Most Epic Fight” in “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker”

We’re still a few months out from the release of the final “Star Wars” film in the Skywalker saga, “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.” While we don’t know much yet, we do have a new interesting tease from star Daisy Ridley, who plays Rey.

In a recent video released by Wired where the actress gets to learn the most-searched for terms in relation to her, as well as other interesting tidbits, she mentions something interesting about the Jedi’s elegant weapon from a more civilized age.

At 8:40 while commenting on her most liked video on Youtube (a behind-the-scenes featurette showcasing a training montage during “Star Wars: The Last Jedi”), Daisy lets us in on a little secret- the lightsabers for “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” are lighter than the previous ones.

“The interesting thing about this film is we concentrate more on the fact that they’re light, because lightsabers were so heavy as Eunice [Huthart] said, who’s our new stunt coordinator, more like broadsword fighting, which isn’t technically what it’s supposed to be because lightsabers are meant to be light by nature. So they actually made the lightsabers lighter for us. We have, perhaps in this film, one of the most epic fights in Star Wars.”

We are SUUUPER looking forward to seeing this most epic fight in “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker,” which hits theaters on December 20th, 2019.
