Daily Dune: Florence Pugh May Join “Part Two”

“The beginning is a delicate time.” Princess Irulan, is that you!? Apparently Oscar nominated actress Florence Pugh is in talks to join Denis Villeneuve’s upcoming “Dune Part Two.”

Out of all the available roles yet to be cast, the one that makes the most sense is Princess Irulan, daughter of the Paddishaw Emperor Shaddam IV. She becomes a bit of a foil for Chani and Paul as things progress later in the source novels. In David Lynch‘s seminal 1984 version of “Dune,” Irulan was played by Virginia Madsen.

This casting would be interesting, as Pugh played opposite Timothée Chalamet in Greta Gerwig‘s “Little Women.”

I mean we can’t really see her playing St. Alia of the Knife, right? Because then she and Chalamet would be siblings after playing a married couple. [*cough* Aaron Taylor Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen in “Godzilla” and “Avengers: Age of Ultron” *cough*]

Be honest, we all wanted mac & cheese after this scene. Florence Pugh, “Hawkeye” Marvel Studios, Disney+

Pugh most recently co-stared in Disney+’s Marvel Studios “Hawkeye” series, reprising her “Black Widow” role of Yelena.

This story is developing, and we’ll let you know what we hear about this and other “Dune” news.
