This week, all eyes are on CinemaCon 2022, happening in Las Vegas. The big studios’ use this event as a roll out of upcoming releases, as well as marketing push for those titles. Sometimes there are secret screenings of upcoming films. But most of the time, it’s all about the announcements.
Like Sony Pictures’ reveal that yes, they are indeed working on a 5th “Ghostbusters” film. This isn’t really surprising, considering how well 2021’s “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” did.
The announcement was tucked into Sony’s closing sizzle reel, which also confirmed a third “Venom” film is happening. (Also sorry- the majority of things shown at CinemaCon don’t get released to the public.)
