Daniel Bruhl has just been named in a really unexpected official press release from Marvel as the lead villain in the upcoming Captain America- Civil War film. The third title in the Captain America cinematic series will be directed by Joe and Anthony Russo.

Civil War will also reportedly bring back Chris Evans, Sebastian Stan returning as The Winter Soldier and Anthony Mackie as The Falcon. Samuel L. Jackson and Scarlett Johansson are also expected to take part.  This film will also mark the debut of Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther, or so Deadline says.

We’ve seen Bruhl recently in Inglourious Basterds and as race car driver Niki Lauda alongside Thor (Chris Hemsworth) in Rush.  We still don’t know the NAME of the character Daniel will be playing, but if you read Variety‘s article, they note something interesting.  Bruhl will NOT be the main villain in Cap 3, but could potentially be the top menace in Marvel’s Doctor Strange.  O.o

Let us know in the comments who YOU think he’ll be playing, or who you’d like to see him as.
