It would appear that cult classic Irish hoodlum film Boondock Saints is getting the prequel treatment on a yet to be announced television platform.  IM Global Television has purchased the rights to the ‘franchise’, (I use this term loosely because many fans try to forget the 2009 sequel), and is currently developing the project.

Writer/director Troy Duffy is attached to write the series and direct the first episode. “For years I’ve been obsessed with telling a real origin story with Boondock, and IM Global TV has stepped up,” Duffy said. “Television is the perfect medium to explore these controversial characters on a much deeper level and to bring Boondock Saints to a whole new audience.”

Original stars Norman Reedus and Sean Patrick Flannery are in early talks to come on board as co-executive producers Deadline reports.

Over the past 15 years, she’s built a well-known reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band. She also produces award-winning immersive events, including Wasteland Weekend and Neotropolis.
