“Barbarian” filmmaker Zach Cregger will be the next director to tackle “Resident Evil.” Let’s remember mere months following the final film installment starring Milla Jovovich, there was immediate talk of rebooting the franchise.

Constantin Film, who still own the film rights for the property since the 1990s, will produce this reboot along with PlayStation Productions.
A bidding war is already happening, which such reported players as Netflix and Warner Bros. Pictures apparently vying for the undead film.
