It’s funny to think there’s an entire generation who will never understand how impactful “America’s Funniest Home Videos” was. In the age before YouTube, good cell phone videos and Vine, “AFHV” was our only source for homelife hilarity. Sure, there were sitcoms on network tv and various cable offerings, but there was something about “AFHV” that drew audiences in. Let’s be honest, it was mostly presenter and host Bob Saget.
We sadly lost Saget rather suddenly on January 9th, 2021. Outpourings of love from friends, family, fellow comedians, and fans from across the world quickly followed. The thing almost everyone who knew him said was that he left everyone know he loved them.
Just this past weekend, “AFHV” (which is now hosted by “Fresh Prince” star Alfonso Ribeiro) released a lovely tribute video to Bob Saget.
Thanks for the many, many years of laughs, Bob. We’ll miss you.
