Fans of Alton Brown and Good Eats have a reason to celebrate this week, thanks to Dragon Con. Pretty strange sentence, right? Until you realize that Brown used the highly diverse fan base the Atlanta convention brings together every Labor Day perfectly to set the stage for his big announcement.

If you remember back in July, Brown teased via his twitter and instagram the possible return of Eats to tv after a pretty successful tour across the USA. If you missed the original instagram post, here you go:

Behind the scenes…the making of “It’s Time…” (If you don’t know what I’m talking about, look at post before.)

But the BIG news from the weekend is Brown’s announcement of the upcoming Return of the Eats to The Food Network sometime next year. Check out this video from the panel because Dragon Con TV is the bestest:

    Alton said:

Premiering next year on Food Network and streaming online, will be a show called Return of the Eats. We’re bringing it back; we’re restarting it; we’re getting the band back together! It will be a television show in the half-hour category there on Food Network, but we’ll also be shooting additional scenes that will be injected into each show for streaming. So if you watch it online, you will see a better show.

There you have it, folks. Fans of Food Network’s Good Eats and all things Alton Brown will have a brand new series beginning next year.
