A strange thing appeared on a digital billboard in Los Angeles this week, a fan-driven campaign to get a sequel to Robert Rodriguez‘s “Alita: Battle Angel” live-action film. They’re also raising money for charity!

Now yes, we know the video isn’t the best due to the digital banding going on, but we were able to capture 3 of the 4 ads that rotate throughout the day.

This is located on a highly visible corner of Wilshire Blvd in Koreatown, and will run until June 7th.

So, a little background about that campaign, which you can read more about here.

There was a campaign to raise the funds to purchase the ad space on the billboard, which was (according to the fan site) fully-funded within 6 hours. They did continue collecting funds and donated the remainder to charities, which it does seem like the Alita Army is all about.

You can donate to the cause here.

Would you like to see an “Alita: Battle Angel” sequel? We sure would!
