A24’s Anthony Bourdain Biopic in the Works with “Holdovers” Star

There isn’t a week that goes by where I don’t think of or quote the late Anthony Bourdain. The chef-turned-author-turned-travel-host led quite a life, one he was never quiet or shy about sharing. Already the subject of numerous op-eds, retrospectives, and documentaries, one favorite studio has acquired an in-the-works biopic about the 6’4 service industry icon who unfortunately took his own life in 2018.

A24 has reportedly made an offer for Star Thrower Entertainment’s Bourdain flick. The most interesting part of this news? The possible star currently rumored to play Tony, Oscar nominee Dominic Sessa, breakout of Alexander Payne‘s “The Holdovers.”

While perhaps not as lanky as Bourdain, Sessa certainly has that menacing charm the younger Bourdain had in the early days of his career. Days that thankfully have been well-documented throughout his writing career, as well as numerous photos.

Matt Johnson will direct, from a script by Lou Howe and Todd Bartels.

They HAVE to include the story about the bride and the head chef, right? RIGHT?

We’ll let you know what we hear about this and other news. “A Cook’s Tour” is available to stream on Prime Video, “No Reservations,” and “Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown” are both available to stream on MAX. And obviously, we highly recommend reading ANY of his numerous books.

We do not recommend the documentary “Roadrunner,” due to the filmmakers using unauthorized AI and misquoting/misrepresenting Bourdain and others.
