We are very sorry to share the news of the passing of ZeniMax (parent company of Bethesda and id Software) founder and CEO Robert A. Altman. Along with his involvement in the gaming industry, Altman was also the husband of original “Wonder Woman” star Lynda Carter.

The news of Altman’s passing was published by Bethesda earlier today.

We are deeply saddened to tell you of the passing of Robert A. Altman, our Founder and CEO. He was a true visionary, friend, and believer in the spirit of people and the power of what they could accomplish together. He was an extraordinary leader, and an even better human being. pic.twitter.com/FZFsVtHc5t

The software giant also shared a letter written by Altman’s son, James. You can read that here.

Patty Jenkins, director of both modern “Wonder Woman” films starring Gal Gadot, posted this.

Today is a profoundly tragic day. Robert was an incredible leader and father and an amazing husband to beloved Lynda Carter. I learned so much from their union and can’t imagine a world without him. You will be deeply missed, Robert. ❤️❤️❤️ to @RealLyndaCarter, Jamie and Jessica. https://t.co/8Is3yAzmIo
