If you are a fan of one or any of the hugely popular Assassin’s Creed game titles, then this post is for you.

Thanks to Yahoo, we have our first look at Callum Lynch, Michael Fassbender’s character in the upcoming live action film based on the franchise.  While there isn’t a whole lot known about this Lynch, we do know he was created specifically for the film. The movie isn’t retelling any of the existing games, but rather introducing new characters into the same world.  The film also stars Marion Cotillard, Michael Kenneth Williams, and Ariane Labed. Filming is set to begin Monday, and will continue across Spain, London, and Malta.

Discovering that he’s descended from a mysterious secret society called the Assassins, Lynch amasses the knowledge and skills to take on the oppressive Templar organization in the present.  Directed by Justin Kurzel (“Snowtown,” “Macbeth”), the action-adventure follows Lynch who, through a revolutionary technology that unlocks his genetic memories, experiences the adventures of his ancestor Aguilar in 15th-century Spain.

Assassin’s Creed is set to hit theaters December 21st, 2016.
