Imagine you’re a young person serving in the newly minted US Space Force as a Guardian (yes, that’s what they’re really calling members of the…branch). You, like many people, really wanted to snag a PS5. So, you take the time out of your busy day to go out into the world and do your best to get procure one, and you succeed! Only one problem- the shopping trip makes you late to Space Force training. The consequence? You get demoted.

This is a story making the rounds on social media, stemming from a post to a Facebook group, which claims to contain the reprimand letter sent to the Guardian in question.

There is no evidence to support the story so far, but- it’s an understandable enough circumstance.

Apparently the offending Guardian was busted down from the rank of Senior Airman to Airman 1st Class.

To make matters worse, if you believe this story, the Guardian also responded to the disciplinary action in a totally adult [not] way:

“Yolo, PS5 > letters of discipline.”

    Yeah. So.

    Space Force.

Today, after a yearlong process that produced hundreds of submissions and research involving space professionals and members of the general public, we can finally share with you the name by which we will be known: Guardians. pic.twitter.com/Tmlff4LKW6
