DANCE YOUR CARES AWAY, worries for another day, let the music play, down in Fraggle Rock!

If you know the rest of the words to that theme song, chances are you DEFINITELY know who Wembly, Gobo, Red, Boober and Mokey are. You may also know that the Disney owned Jim Henson Muppets Studio has been talking about a relaunch of the Fraggles in one form or another.  For the longest time, we thought it would be a new tv series.

Variety is announcing that Joseph Gordon-Levitt will be starring in a brand new Fraggles film.  This musical puppet series created by the late Jim Henson reimagined as a movie has been in the works for nearly a decade, but the attachment of Gordon-Levitt means the project is going full Doozer steam ahead.

“The first screen personas I ever loved were Henson creations, first on ‘Sesame Street,’ and then on ‘Fraggle Rock,’” Gordon-Levitt said. “Jim Henson’s characters make you laugh and sing, but they’re also layered, surprising, and wise. From Oscar the Grouch, to Yoda, to the Fraggles. I’ve never stopped loving his work, even as a young frisky man, and on into adulthood. Collaborating with Lisa Henson makes me confident we can do something that Jim would have loved. I’m grateful and excited to be working with New Regency on this project.”

We’ll let you know as this story progresses.
