“Spider-Man” Helmer Jon Watts May Direct Star Wars Project

Filmmaker Jon Watts, who directed all three of Tom Holland‘s “Spider-Man” outings, may be headed to a galaxy far, far away. This is a story that is currently super deep into rumor territory.

Watts is possibly currently in discussion to direct “a new series” in the “Star Wars” universe for Disney+. There’s no telling what the project might be, it could be anything. Obviously we know that season 1 of “Kenobi” is already complete, with Deborah Chow directing every episode. Likewise, “Andor” is almost complete. A second season has mostly been officially confirmed, so this could be an option.

But, the key word in this rumor seems to be “new.” As in…something not already announced or in production.

Collider seems to think this new project may be younger audience focused, and possibly tied into the High Republic timeline.

Let’s remember the LEGO set Peter and Ned put together in “Spider-Man: Homecoming.”

We’ll obviously let you know what we hear about this and other projects.
