During today’s massively awesome Sony PlayStation Showcase, there were all kinds of reveals. Some, we knew about, some, were a super pleasant surprise! One title however, we’ve been anxiously awaiting updates on- Santa Monica Studio’s upcoming “God of War” sequel title, “God of War Ragnarok.”

Creative Director at Santa Monica Studio Cory Barlog‘s enthusiasm is as always infectious.

Christopher Judge (“Stargate“) is back as Kratos, Sunny Suljic is back as Atreus. Danielle Bisutti will once again voice Freya. Ryan Hurst (“Sons of Anarchy“) is playing Thor in this outing, and Richard Schiff (“The West Wing“) will be playing Odin All-Father! Ben Prendergast is playing Tyr, and last of the giants Angerboda will be played by Laya Deleon Hayes.

We did get confirmation during the later portion of the showcase that Eric Williams is directing “Ragnarok.”

“The important thing for us is to be able to get a fresh perspective each time, but also a fresh pair of legs in the sense that you’re really exhausted at the end of finishing one of these things, so you’ve got to con somebody else into doing it,” Barlog joked during the stream. “Like him!”

OH, and we know that Emmy winning composer Bear McCreary will be handling the score for this title as well!

Thrilled to officially announce my return to the franchise as composer for #GodOfWarRagnarok . This trailer features a taste of my next score, including a significant new character theme!https://t.co/aujBvlstyQ
